How to Self-Administer an Enema*

Today many people either don't know how to take an enema or they have learned a rather painful aberration of the process.  Please remember: it is not supposed to be terribly uncomfortable.

Fill the bag with water at just a tad above body temp (you can test it like a baby bottle) 98.6 degrees.  I find lying on a towel on the floor   preferable over the bath tub as some people are oriented.  Insert the lubricated tip 4 or 5 inches up into the rectum, 2 to 3 inches for smaller children.  Hold the top of the bag in one hand and fully extend your arm toward the ceiling.  Don't hang a bag higher or the force of the water will feel uncomfortable.  It's common to feel an urge to eliminate early on.  Try breathing slowly and lightly tough your lower abdomen.  If the feeling persists, remove the tube and do your business, return to the floor and reinsert the tube (add more lubricant if necessary).  I prefer Castor Oil as a lubricant as it is antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral.  Repeat as many times as you need until your body, soothed by the warm water begins to relax and allow the water to work its way up the large intestine (goes up the left side across the top from left to right and down to the appendix on the right site.  You may be able to finish putting the water in and do some abdominal massage to “wash” the colon walls.

You can tell by the smell how long fecal matter has been inside you.  If it smells unpleasant - rest assured you are flushing toxins out of your body.  One of the major causes of disease is “autointoxication” or the reabsorption of putrid water.  This is a sure way to get moving on the right track.  Give me a call if you need to talk.
