Elizabeth Lee
Bioholistic Practitioner Since 1974

"Self-Help is the key to obtaining and maintaining well being"
WHAT IS BIOHOLISTICS?
Bioholistics is the study of the relationships between living systems. It is concerned with the holistic integration of mind and body with the environment. Bioholistic studies incorporate, though not exclusively, the concepts of Bioenergetics and Biodynamics. It is more concerned with the ultimate relationship between the inner-self (the spirit) and the outer-self (the universe) and the body that goes in between.
To better understand yourself, your attitudes and behaviors, is to acknowledge that your body, mind and spirit function in the greater environment to create a whole being. In Bioholistic therapy the human body is accepted as a microcosm. Initiating change and the self-discovery resultant in that effort are central in Bioholistic therapy. As a Bioholistic therapist, Elizabeth enjoys reaching deeply through light touch, as well as affecting physical release, through deep, musculo-skeletal technique. All change is measured through the physical body and each individual's interpretation thereof. Elizabeth, who often serves as an advocate for her clients, works cooperatively with primary physicians and all care-giving teams, to facilitate the greatest, individualized well-being.

ABOUT ELIZABETH LEE

As an adjuvant*, Elizabeth Lee has explored self-healing as a life work since 1974. She believes in the power of the individual to affect the whole.
"I designed and earned a B.S. in Wholistic Health Sciences from Columbia Pacific University in 1985 and then studied Pediatric Tui-na in Shanghai, China, and certified students in Jamaican Foot Therapy," Elizabeth says.
Early on in my practice I observed that I could only do 8 or 9 sessions weekly and continue to love my work. I have kept that pace for 32 years. "Life is a Marathon, not a sprint." My studies began in nutrition that led me to a macrobiotic lifestyle for seven years while I avidly studied three different styles of Shiatsu.
Chinese Medicine came next for me and I worked with this concept for 12 years even giving up my practice to garden to better embody the 5-element theory. Later I assumed what I believe to be a more North American native regime and continue to pursue that path through Biodynamics and native herbals and oils.
Many of my clients have been extremely intelligent, savvy in their fields of psychiatry, education, social services, and counseling. I credit them hugely for my education through their willingness to pursue health and share that journey with me. Change is definitely easier if the emotional work is in process.
To better understand human perception I studied Neuro-Linguistic Programming in 1977. My love affair with Milton Erickson (hypnotherapy, etc.) is as sincere today.
For the past few years I've been fascinated by the neurology of the human body and the study of right/left brain processing. I work ambidextrously and use yoga, tai chi, and walking to rejuvenate my body.
Continuing on the personal note I am a single adoptive mother of two grown children. Grama is a role I'm enjoying like no other. Samantha (7) comes to Grama's for the summer in the country. Baby Nicholas just had his first birthday. I was able to be a doula for my daughter for both my grandcildren.
I began visiting Rappahannock County in the early 1980's while living in Middleburg, Virginia and I knew almost immediately that I didn't want to live any where else in all of America. I have maintained my private practice on Historic Main St., in Sperryville, Virginia since 1997.
*An Adjuvant is an assistant to the healing process. Whether facilitating physical fitness, mental equilibrium or spiritual awareness, an adjuvant primarily heals one's self and assists others secondarily, to the level of his/her ability without attachment to outcome.
Notes: May 20, 2006Dear Ones, I've returned from the extended stay in Costa Rica. I visited the southwest, and stayed on the gulf called Golfo Dulce. I was feeling a need for renewal and I was not disappointed. Now I've gone and purchased a little piece of land on the gulf and will be splitting my time between here and Costa Rica. Don't worry I'll be on top of the mail order by computer, telephone, etc. Now that I've celebrated my 59th birthday, beginning my 60th year, I've decided to make many changes in my life. If you want to keep up and receive occasional emails from Virginia and Costa Rica just go back to the home page, to my name under the picture. It will give you an instant email messenger. I'll add your email to my list. Until later, have a wonderful journey. ; ) eleeza

Hello All, Sitting in my country kitchen in Sperryville, VA. The wood is stacked neatly by the stove, although I've only had to build one fire so far. Sweeite, my Brittney Spaniel is asleep by my feet. I'm filled with gratitude and awe. The colors are beginning to show as the maple leaves race toward being the most brillant. The poison ivy is becoming gloriously red. Walking the Hazel River Trail can be life altering. I look to the West and celebrating the Bear go within. And speaking of bears, we have more than ever before here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enjoy the season. ; ) elee
